Been a good ego trip but I wanna go home,
I felt as cool as this, thought that the world was my own,
But what's the point of it when I'm feeling so alone?
I went crowd surfing upon an ocean of fans,
Absorbed one thousand high-fives from adoring fans,
But now my legs are aching to be back on solid land.

So how am I gonna cope,
Looking through the microscope?
I got absorbed in little old me,
But I got bored eventually.

Wanted to prove my worth, I had to show them I mattered.
Needed to make my mark before my particles scattered.
But every mark I've made is just more weight upon my platter.
Yeah I made up everything, I did it all on my own.
Recorded every bit in this room in my home.
But it's just a bunch of noise, overproduced and overblown.

So how am I gonna cope?
Wash my sins away with soap.
I got absorbed in little old me,
But I got bored eventually.

Been a good ego trip but I wanna go home.
On this plateau I sit, like a king on his throne.
I'm lord of garbage mountain, and the fools that call it home.
But there's this feeling mounting, that I really am alone.
And is it still astounding as the world is turned to stone?

So I turned my gaze inward and I honed my own will.
I meditated until my thoughts were perfectly still.
Became as open minded as an empty landfill.

I'd give up everything, if I could only see beyond the eyes of me.
There's one thing I'll never have, why does it hurt so bad,
To be alone like that,
